Westminster City Center Westminster, CO

The Westminster City Center Marketplace is a shopping center with Tuscan inspired architecture. Located adjacent to a community housing development, the center was designed to a higher level of finish than what previously had been the industry standard. These finishes included 17 towers along the perimeter of the Marketplace. Each tower has two niches at its base. The towers along the front of the building have 16 tile mosaic niches, 10 of which are also fountains. The back, side and some of the front towers have painted mural niches with tuscan landscapes and painted trompe l’oeil flower trellises. When completed in 1997 the Westminster City Center Marketplace was a model for the future of shopping center development.
